To Edit or Make a Page
You can go to "Edit this page" at the bottom-left to edit a page's contents - you must be logged in to do this.
New pages must be made in relation to an existing page. To make a new page:
Go to "Edit this page" and in the editor that comes up, insert "[[" + "page name - can be anything" + "]]" where you want the link to your page to appear - this can be anywhere on the page - save your changes, then click on the link - a new page will have been created and you can start editing it immediately. The syntax should look like this:
[[Example Page Name]]
To Insert Code
edit the page, paste in your code from another application, and add "<pre>" before the start of the code and "</pre>" at the end of the code. This will preserve the formatting (line breaks, tabbing).
To Upload an Image
You can go to "Upload Image" at the top-right to upload images - you must be logged in to do this.
We have made a generic login for you: login: Gsapp password: gsapp2009 After uploading, to insert the image into the document, goto "edit this page" and add this text where you want the image: "[[" + "Image:" + "your_file_name.jpg"+ "]]" - when you save your changes you should see the image. The syntax should look like this:
[[Image:example.jpg]]
To Upload any Other Type
To upload zip files, rhino files or other types, you must do this through the FTP and then link them back to the wiki. Do not attempt to use the "Upload Image" page - you will break the wiki.
To access proxy.ftp, login to ftp.proxyarch.com login:gsapp password:Columbia125 - there you can upload files which can then be linked back to the wiki.
To make a link, edit the page, click on the "external link" button and add "http://www.proxyarch.com/uploads/" + "the name of the file you uploaded to the ftp" as the "link" - give whatever you want for the link title.
Here is an example of the syntax it will generate:
[http://www.proxyarch.com/uploads/060918-sf.zip Sample Link]
SmartFTP - a good ftp client to use if you don't have one already.
