SolidWorks Workshop

Introduction

SolidWorks is a 3D CAD environment for designers for design validation, product data management and product documentation. As the name reflects, SolidWorks is a "solid modeling" paradigm which distinct itself from other modeling platforms. From a purely representational model to a working model that virtual represent an assembly of components with material property as well as relation properties among the parts, forces us to rethink the process of modeling. This correlation of components open up for us the ability for validation (Structural Analysis, Physical Testing, Fluid Dynamics, etc), also the flexibility to manage all the elements as drawing and modification to update to all associated part.

In combination with CNC fabrication is the ability to thinking of variability in the component.
